Ude-Chime Ike was the Chairman of the Igbo Union Finland from 1999 to 2005. The Union is a recognized non-governmental cultural organization under Finnish law. The Igbo Union Finland is open to all IGBO natives living in Finland. Both Igbo residents of Nigeria who live in Finland and anyone else interested in learning about and identifying with the Igbo culture make up our membership. With 205 active members, the union has been taking part in cultural events for fifteen years. The purpose of these gatherings is to provide union members with a sense of community in a society where they are a minority.
